Richard Charles Wingate

Biography

General Counsel for Fortune 500 International Companies and Start-Ups

Richard Wingate is the recently retired General Counsel of LG Electronics USA, Inc. Based in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., LG Electronics USA, Inc., (LGEUS) is the North American subsidiary of LG Electronics Inc., a $45-billion global force in consumer electronics, home appliances and mobile communications.

Currently he is General Counsel at BP Group in Queens, NY and serving various other commercial clients and start-ups as part of Rick Wingate Consulting and now Of Counsel to the Sekas Law Group. Mr. Wingate has also served on the Boards of various corporations and organizations including retailers and trade associations.  Rick is also a certified mediator.

A graduate of Tulane University School of Law and Rutgers College, Mr. Wingate holds Bar memberships in New York and previously in New Jersey ("In-House" Admission for LG). Prior to LG he was with Sony Electronics Inc. as Senior Managing Counsel. Before that he was Counsel with Pan Atlantic Corporation in White Plains, NY and a Staff Attorney and Land Attorney with Chevron USA in New Orleans, La. and Perth Amboy, NJ.

Mr. Wingate is a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel and World Commerce and Contracting (formerly known as IACCM where he was a Board Member). He was also an adjunct Professor with SUNY Westchester in the Paralegal Program for 14 years.

Additionally, he is a volunteer member of the Scarsdale, NY Fire Department, Company 2 and has volunteered with the Scarsdale Little League and its recreation soccer and basketball programs as a coach. He has also served on Scarsdale's School Board Nominating Committee for 5 years including one year as Chairperson and currently serves on the Citizens Nominating Committee in Scarsdale.
